A pergola is a structure defined as having a lattice roof or cross beams and four posts that hold it up. They might be used to cover walkways, as sitting areas. While some might look modern or romantic with grapevines, she has also seen luxe versions with retractable roofs. “It just adds a little bit of architectural interest to the property,” says Ms. Unger.
