Mott & Chace Sotheby’s International Realty Represented More Buyers and Sellers in the Top Sales of 2019

This year, Mott & Chace Sotheby’s International Realty has commanded the luxury side of Rhode Island real estate.  2019 has seen some of the highest recorded sales in MLS history, and agents of Mott & Chace Sotheby’s International Realty have represented five out of ten clients in these top sales: more than any other firm.

10 Bluff Avenue located in Westerly was sold for $17,600,000 and represents the highest recorded single-family property sale ever in Watch Hill. The home, located between The Ocean House and Taylor Swift’s property, is also the highest ever recorded single-family sale statewide. Swift’s privately purchased home remains the highest single-family property sale statewide. 10 Bluff Avenue is the highest known sale in Watch Hill since then.

Another record-breaking oceanfront sale by Mott & Chace Sotheby’s International Realty was made in July when agents of the firm represented both sides of 609 Beavertail Road, Jamestown.  The $8,000,000 sale included the spectacular seven-acre contemporary estate and additional adjoining lot, set high on a cliff at Jamestown’s southern tip overlooking picturesque Newport Harbor. This represents the highest recorded single-family property sale ever in Jamestown, according to data available from the Rhode Island Multiple Listing Service. This is the second highest single-family sale statewide of 2019.

The sale of 850 East Shore Road, Jamestown for $6,325,000 ranks as the fourth highest sale in Rhode Island in 2019. The second highest transaction in Jamestown this year, agents of Mott & Chace Sotheby’s International Realty represented clients on both ends of the transaction at “Cajacet Farm”.  The home, built in 1690, is rich in history; Local legend is that Captain Kidd visited in 1699 and asked his friend to hide his treasure while he returned to England. Kidd was arrested and never returned.
